Sue Black's father, Eugene "Pineapple" Jackson, started a dance school in Compton, California in 1960 and named it "Sue Carol School of Dance." Sue was already performing in some of the largest entertainment facilities in Los Angeles and Hollywood.

Sue's dance training began at the age of four. Her teaching career began at the age of twelve at her father's dance school. After graduating from college she taught at Stage Workshop in Compton, A&T State University in North Carolina, F.D. Dancy Youth Academy and for the City of Pasadena. She was featured in the book The Power of One: Movers and Shakers of Pasadena. She has judged for the NAACP ACT-SO awards and been involved with the Pasadena Dance Festival as a committee member and master instructor. She has been a guest instructor at Animo Charter High School in Los Angeles and an adjudicator for Crenshaw High School in Los Angeles.

Sue believes that children are our greatest gift from God and our future rests on their shoulders. We have an obligation to nurture our children and instill positive values that will insure their success for the future. She shares her enthusiasm and knowledge of dance with children and adults from all walks of life.
